Designer and Manufacturer

Hello, my name is David. I am a goldsmith who has been manufacturing and repairing jewellery for over thirty years. Twelve years ago Cheryl decided to change her vocation and join me in a new business venture.
In 2008... Forever Gold emerged.

Having avoided technology for many years we have finally decided to thrust ourselves into the 21st Century and...

Below is a brief overview of who we are, and how we got here.

When working at the bench we each have our very different roles. My main role is to complete the array of jewellery repairs that are given to us on a daily basis, while Cheryl is responsible for the design and manufacture of our handcrafted jewellery collections. She also takes great pleasure in showing me...'The way things should be done!'

Hello, My name is Cheryl, and I have been designing and manufacturing gold and silver jewellery for over twelve years. (Although, as David would say... "She's been on the bench for two minutes and knows it all!")

Through many years of experience, holding many different jobs in diverse facets of arts and crafts and academia, I finally bit the bullet and became a jewellery designer and manufacturer.

Being lucky enough to live close to the beautiful Gower coastline, which provides me with endless inspiration for my designs, I take great pleasure in creating bespoke, textured jewellery collections that are a reflection of nature's beauty and imperfections. Celebrating organic; unique; fluid forms that can be worn, as they are made...
with Passion and Pride!

All our jewellery is handcrafted in our small workshop in South Wales, using a combination of traditional and modern metalsmithing techniques and a marriage of materials that are as natural as possible, using recycled metals, eco silver, ethically sourced stones and avoiding harsh chemicals wherever we can.

My designs are created organically! The finished product seldom ends up as the first original design, but develops and grows, just as in nature...
It evolves!

Unlike most jewellery designers who have studied art and design at college, it is hard for me to identify one area of design that inspires me.

There are many things in my life that can evolve into an item of jewellery. The world is a beautiful place, and walking through a woodland, seeing all the different shapes and textures can be just as inspiring as finding a gemstone at a show, touching it, and just feeling the design coming through!

I get really excited by texture, the feel of a design, and love to experiment with a design technique known as reticulation.

This technique, combined with a fellow student's passion for creating dichroic glass, inspired me to create the 'Icicle' collection. As soon as I saw the rainbow of colour captured in his stones, it reminded me of frost covered fields and the ice palace from The Chronicles of Narnia - I have always been a dreamer!

You may be thinking that this women doesn't really know what she wants, which is probably true
I never know what's coming next... So watch this space!

Commissions

Jewellery can be extremely sentimental and very personal. One of our favourite tasks is to recycle a beloved heirloom piece that has been in the family for years, and turn it into a new, modern design, that will be worn time and time again. Or to commemorate a special moment in your life, and capture it forever, with a bespoke jewellery design created in silver, gold, or mixed media, that you can wear forever!

If you would like us to design and manufacture an item of jewellery for you, then please feel free to browse through our custom orders page, or gallery, to view samples of the work that we have previously completed.
If you are happy with the work that we do, then please feel free to contact us and we can discuss your requirements in greater detail.
Customer satisfaction is our main aim and we are here to help in any way that we can.
